Joint Pains
Joints are formed by the junction of two bones that link together, thereby producing a lot of motion. They also provide stability. Joint pains are a result of a malfunction in that system of movement. The joints that are involved with everyday movements such as walking, lifting, and sitting tend to break down the most. These include the shoulders and knees and hips as well as the small joints in the cervical and lumbar spine. Many types of chronic joint pains are caused by osteoarthritis, which is caused by a breakdown of the cartilage which lines the joint. Other potential causes are bursitis, tendinitis, torn or stretched ligaments or muscles.
Dr.Rousseau has several treatment options for joint pains after arriving at a proper diagnosis. Depending on which joint is involved, some of these treatments include injections of steroid or platelet-rich plasma. He also performs geniculate nerve blocks and radiofrequency ablation for knee pains.
He works closely with other medical and physical therapy specialists quite often in order to produce the best outcomes.
